Latitude Gear Shop is a brand born from a love of exploration. Mike and Nans Kirkpatrick, founders of Latitude Guiding, a backcountry fly fishing outfit in Nelson, New Zealand, found themselves constantly seeking the best possible gear for their adventures.
Latitude Guiding, established in 1999, boasts over 40 years of experience exploring the stunning waterways of Nelson, Marlborough, and the West Coast. Mike, a passionate guide and self-proclaimed nature enthusiast, specializes in crafting unforgettable backcountry adventures – from scenic helicopter rides to remote hikes, all designed to lead anglers to hidden fishing havens.
Driven by their own gear needs and a desire to share their experiences, Mike and Nans launched Latitude Gear Shop. The shop focuses on providing top-quality products tested by the founders themselves, ensuring customers have everything they need to feel comfortable, light, and versatile in the wilderness.
